Jowar is rich in dietary fiber, which aids in digestion, prevents constipation, and promotes a healthy digestive system. jowar is naturally gluten-free, making it suitable for individuals with gluten sensitivities or those following a gluten-free diet. Jowar is a good source of minerals like phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and iron. INGREDIENTS:

  • Jowar dal-2 cups

  • Urad dal-1 cup

  • Rice -½ cup

  • Water-1 cup

  • Salt - 2 tbsp

  • Cumin- 1 tbsp


PREPARATION:

  1. In a bowl, take jowar dal,urad dal, and rice. Wash them thoroughly twice and soak them for 3 hours.

  2. Transfer the soaked grains to a mixer jar and grind it into a fine paste.

  3. The thick batter should be fermented for at least 8 hrs.


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add water, salt, cumin to the batter and mix it thoroughly. Add the water little by little  until the batter turns into a liquid consistency.

  2. Now on a hot tava pan add a tbsp of oil and grease the pan, pour a ladle of batter and spread the batter gently in circular motion. Add a tbsp of ghee oil around the dosa.

  3. Once the dosa starts to turn into golden brown color, flip the dosa and let the other side also cook for 30 sec.


Jowar dosa is ready to be served. Jowar dosa is served with coconut chutney, ginger pickel and sambar complementing its wholesome flavor.
