Dondakaya pakodi (ivy gourd fry)

DONDAKAYA PAKODI FRY( ivy gourd fitters fry)

Ivy gourd is known as dondakaya in telugu. Ivy gourd pakoda can be had with rice and also as an evening tea time snack. It is a mixture of ivy gourd and various other ingredients which gives this dish a unique taste of sweet, hot and salty. The ivy gourd is soft and fleshy whereas the pakoras are crispy and crunchy which feels different from other fried side dishes.

I chopped chopped ivy gourds into vertical slices ,they can be chopped into small pieces also.

If you don't have besan flour you can use wheat flour also, 1 cup wheat flour : 1 cup rice flour.

In my house we prefer to have ivy gourd pakoras with rice and sambar or also as a fry dish with plain rice.
